On Remembrance Sunday me and four others took on an 11 mile walk which took in the mountainous Blencathra and it's alternative way up, Sharp Edge. The Edge was a scramble and a climb which isn't for the faint-hearted and takes a bit of concentration! One slip and it's a very long way down! It was exhilarating to be honest and I felt a real sense of achievement upon reaching the top. Hat's off to Andy as well who, despite being scared of heights, conquered this beast!

The rest of the walk was taken in by bagging some Wainwrights, 5 in all I think, but Sharp Edge was the highlight for me but it finished me off! Don't know how I completed the rest of the walk because I had no energy left!

The descent to the pub was pretty treacherous too but the pint at the end of it accompanied by a home-made chicken curry and rice made things seem much better. A cracking day out spent with some great people. What more can you ask for?

Looking back the way we've come so far with Radder and I think that's Great Mell Fell in the distance.

You can see why they also call Blencathra 'Saddleback'.

Sharp Edge! More like Razor's edge!

Radder on Sharp Edge. He's either not very happy at having his photo taken or just deep in concentration!

Me on Sharp Edge. The trickiest bits were the slippery slab and the slight scramble up to the top.

I was hanging back to take photos...honest!

Stunning mountain vistas.

Another cairn and another Wainwright bagged!

Our accommodation for the night! Not really...

Hope you liked the photos.
