About WOODWARD WALKING
Hi. I’m Steve and welcome to my walking blog. I’ve been walking in the Peak District since I was a teenager so it’s a special place for me. I think I’ve covered every inch of the White Peak and a vast majority of the Dark Peak – well it feels like that anyway! I am now 60 and still walk regularly and also run up to half marathon distance but walking is my main activity.
I have completed a lot of memorable walks over the years and my aim is to include them on here but that may take some time so this is very much a ‘Work in Progress’.

My favourite walks thus far are Striding Edge and Helvellyn, Blencathra and Sharp Edge, Scafell Pike, and High Street in The Lakes District; The Yorkshire 3 Peaks, which I’ve done twice; Kinder Scout in the Dark Peak; Hadrian’s Wall (over 4 days!); the Lairig Ghru in Aviemore, Scotland; and The Samaria Gorge in Crete, which I’ve also done twice.

These days I am usually accompanied by my canine companion, Ted, a 7 year old miniature labradoodle who is the best dog anyone could wish for and can walk the hind legs off of a donkey. I hope you enjoy my blog and I look forward to your comments and feedback.
