HIGH STREET and not for shopping!

On the 15th October 2020, when we were allowed to travel, I ticked off a Lakeland mountain I'd wanted to do for a long time and it didn't disappoint.


I did the route from Sykeside campsite to Hartsop through Threshwaite Cove and a steep climb to Threshwaite Mouth. From here we climbed up to Thornthwaite Crag and the Beacon where we had lunch and then onto High Street itself. Strange that the summit is called Racecourse Hill. Almost missed the Trig point!


We came down via The Knott. It's a superb walk with some of the most stunning views I've seen in The Lakes. 3 more Wainwright's ticked off too! The walk clocked in at just over 10 miles with 2.656ft of ascent. Loved it and Ted did fantastic! What a dog!
